Chamber Choir SonorEnsemble was founded by conductor Hanna Remes (b. 1973) in the autumn of 2002 and at the moment there are 21 devoted members in the choir. The choir aims at a sonorous sound and vocal harmony as well as an expressive performance. The repertoire is versatile ranging from classical music to pop/jazz genre.
SonorEnsemble’s annual traditions include Christmas concert in the Uspenski Cathedral and Summer Concert in the Seurasaari Open-Air Museum. The choir also performs abroad and has participated in international choir competitions. In addition, the choir is involved in Hanna Remes’s doctoral thesis project at University of the Arts Helsinki. Although the ambitions are high, the members also want to enjoy relaxed moments, joy of music and travelling together.
